The Chorale
A classical choral organisation devoted to excellent performance, meaningful collaboration and wider access to great choral music.
Excellence without exclusivity. Tradition without stagnation.
Formed in 2013 by Cape Town conductor and organist John Frans, St. Luke’s Chorale is a classical choir committed to presenting high-quality choral and orchestral music while widening access to sacred and classical repertoire.
Its work brings singers, instrumentalists and audiences together around carefully prepared choral concerts in Cape Town. The Chorale’s artistic ambitions are matched by a commitment to sustainability, community and the long-term cultivation of choral culture.
The work is collective.
Voices, strings, winds, keyboard and the acoustics of sacred space meet in the same musical moment.

Excellence
Preparation, musical discipline and respect for the score.
Access
